In the Val d'Allos if you want to improve your tennis, you need a good equipment. You'll see, you won't regret it. There are loads of sports and adventure waiting for you. In order for your stay to be as pleasant and fulfilling as possible, here are a few items you should bring with you.
THE VAL D'ALLOS: BEAUTIFUL, HIGH ,AND HOT !
The station of Val dAllos is located at 1800 meters altitude and you have to protact yourself from the sun. Therefore, you should bring a hat, a pair of sunglasses, suncream and lip balm. The weather changes rapidly and the nights can be cold so you should bring a warm wool jumper as well as a wind breaker.
BEING READY TO GIVE YOUR BEST ON COURT
A good training session begins with good equipment. Bring your tennis raquet(s) tennis trainers that have been used before( to reduce the risk of getting blisters) .
Should you break your strings, you may have your raquet restringed at camp(at a cost of 18 Euros to 28 Euros depending on the string). You can buy grip and overgrip at camp. Make sure you bring a bottle to drink during training.
MOUNTAINS AREA
For hikes, bring a small backpack, a bottle, a pair of sport trainers or mountain shoes if you have some. For the water hike, the ideal would be an old pair of used trainers.
HOME SWEET HOME / ACCOMODATION
We recommend that you bring a sleeping bag as it is more convenient but if you do not have one, we furnish all bed linen. If the weather is good, a night out is programmed for Tennis + Activities campers.
For days at the leisure and Water Park, bring a swimsuit, a large beach towel. Bring a table handkerchief for meals.
LAUNDERING
The laundering of underwear, T-shirts, socks, and shorts will be done twice during a session. It is very important that your camper`s name appears on every item of clothing. It will allow you to gather your clothing more rapidly after laundering.
At the end of camp, all dirty laundry are put in a plastic bag. Clothes are rarely forgotten and these are usually gathered after the major cleaning of the hôtel at the end of August. In that case, they will be sent back to you by post.
POCKET MONEY/ VALUABLE POSSESSIONS
A bank system is set up at the campers' arrival. If a camper does not wish to deposit his or her pocket money in the bank, we will not be held responsible in the case of loss. We recommend 10 Euros notes, and a total amount ranging from 20 to 30 Euros is largely sufficient. Moreover, the campers will have no additional costs to cover during camp.
At the beginning of camp, the director offers the possibility to leave all valuable possessions to him until camp is over. If you wish to close your drawer, you should bring a small key or number code lock.
Bring your favorite CDs for night time activities and discos but make sure the cases are marked with your name.
MEDICAL CARE
If your camper takes medical prescriptions, store all medicines in a small bag with the prescription form which will be left in the director`s office. The director will also respect any special requirements that you may have in case of a particular treatment. The camp depends on the medical centre in Colmars Les Alpes where a doctor may be called permanently.
We remind you that it is important to fill in the medical form of the camper and to mention any sanitary particularities which you think are important in the interest of camp.
This form is confidential and read solely by the director who will be the one to talk to for health matters.
IN THE VAL D'ALLOS, IT`S NO SMOKING ! INCLUDING STAFF !
It is totally forbidden to smoke while at camp and the staff is no smoking as it is a criteria for recruitment. No exceptions will be made and should a camper be caught smoking, we will ask him or her to give the cigarettes to us which will be destriyed in his or her presence.
COMMUNICATION / PHONE / INTERNET FOR THE CAMPERS
A camper may communicate with his or her parents via three possibilities:
